Making sport a vector of inclusion and integration

inclusion and disability. For the third edition, the All United in Sports operation will give the sports clubs of Villefranche the opportunity this Saturday to present their disciplines to people with disabilities.

In addition to these moments of meeting and asking questions, both for the participants and for the structures, it is about continuing the inclusive local sporting momentum initiated almost ten years ago by the Tous Baignent handi Rouergue association. This year, five other local sports clubs are co-organizing the day: the judo club, the Shorin Ryu Karate Aveyron, the pearl of Villefranchoise, the taewondo club Koryo and the fencing club of Villefranchois. Everything starts from 9am to 11am with a discovery of the water activities in the Aqualudis pools, then from 1.30pm with the setting up of workshops in the Robert Fabre gymnasium. Sports teachers and volunteers will of course be present to support and guide the participants in an adapted practice, with the desire to expand these moments of discovery through future recruitment.

Nursing students took action

At the initiative of Elodie Cance, second-year nursing student and volunteer at Tous baignent Hardi Rouergue, about ten students from the Rodez healthcare professions training institute (IFMS) will participate in the operation. Their voluntary participation is part of an educational project adjacent to the Health – Illness and Disability educational unit. “Our participation should enable us to develop an integrated vision of people in the different periods of their lives, but also to discover and acquire elements in the care of people with disabilities.” explains the future caregiver. And adds “By participating we also want to emphasize that the nurse is not just there to give injections! Supporting sick or disabled people and the people around them is also an essential daily mission of our future profession. Our participation shows a real openness to others, participation in “All united in sport” is a natural approach, our enthusiasm is continuous and our motivation is constant! “.
