Mirepoix. Third-year SEGPA students showed their second short film

The third-year students of the adapted course of the college went to the shores of Lake Saint-Ferréol for a whole week to film their second short film, entitled “Prize de vie(s)”.

Eva Ménérat, Jonathan Duffo and Emmanuelle Christol-Veillet, the three teachers who led the project, and Loïc Marchand, audiovisual worker of the association La Biz’art’rit, accompanied them during this cinematographic adventure.

After the experience of the first film they made last year, entitled “The Dream of Others”, the students were ready to live this week, which promised to be intense and rich in all kinds of emotions. There was no reason to postpone because the project was ambitious. But everything went well and all the scenes planned in advance could be shot every day under different conditions: a day with heavy fog, a light rain, a light ray of sunshine skimming the edges of the lake, day, night…

“This stay was so good, we had freedoms. It was different from university, but we still learned a lot of things,” Thomas emphasizes. “I really liked the scene where we had to have a party,” Quentin emphasizes. “It wasn’t always easy to overcome my shyness in front of the camera, but I enjoyed participating in this experience so much that it was worth the challenge,” Clémentine explains.

The high school students’ film will participate in the Rencontres high school video festival in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, organized next May. And the film will be shown on Tuesday, June 18 in the Mirepoix cinema. After this date it will be possible to view it on the Cité scolaire website.

The project’s teaching team, as well as all the students, would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped them carry out this wonderful project.
