The announcement of a ‘dwarf fight’ in a nightclub in Toulouse causes controversy and outrage among the government

On April 11, a boxing match between two little people will be organized in the Le Nine nightclub in Toulouse. The event is controversial.

In front of a laughing crowd filming the scene, two small boxers fight in a ring with safety barriers. The video, which has been viewed nearly 400,000 times, aired on the TikTok account of DD Event – which strangely just went private –, an event planning agency. This ‘dwarf fight’ took place last October in a nightclub in Toulouse.

For the “return battle”, organized on April 11 at the Le Nine nightclub, in the Sesquières district, DD Event invites you to “reserve your place” on the ticket link “following the enthusiasm” around the “evening nain’portequoi” that is already controversial. Fadila Khattabi, the minister responsible for the elderly and disabled, said she “strongly condemned” the event.

The ‘dwarf fight’ could be banned by the prefecture of Haute-Garonne. A ruling of the Council of State, known as the Morsang-sur-Orge ruling, born after the denunciation of “dwarf throwing events” in 1995, allows this type of activity to be banned. The prefecture has not yet responded to our requests at the time of writing these lines.
