High School Rankings 2024: Find out if your institution is properly preparing the professionals of tomorrow

The private secondary school Saint-François d’Assise, Montigny-le-Bretonneux (Yvelines) is the most efficient establishment in France according to BFMTV

The elite establishment increasingly rhymes with the private establishment. In any case, this is the lesson we learned from “success indicators» of middle and high schools published on Wednesday, March 20 by the Ministry of Education. Based on these criteria, BFMTV has created a ranking of the best middle and high schools in France. For colleges, the evaluation is based on three important criteria: the pass rate for the diploma, the marks for the written tests in French, mathematics, science and history-geography, and the “added value» for these indicators. For secondary schools, our colleagues took into account three criteria: the baccalaureate pass rate in 2023, the number of entries in the same year and the “added value» for these two criteria. The ranking is based on 6,615 middle schools and 2,230 high schools.

Over there “added value» measures an institution’s ability to exceed expectations, taking into account the profile of students and their socio-educational environment. A superior score indicates success in developing the capabilities of potentially disadvantaged students to lead them to academic success. It should be noted that this ranking is based solely on performance criteria and does not reflect other aspects such as the commitment of teachers, the quality of the courses taught, the options offered or the well-being of students.

The ranking is dominated by private companieswith in mind the Stanislas College in Paris, with a patent success rate of 100% in 2023, and an average of 17/20. The first public university, the French-German University of Buc (Yvelines) is in 11th place, with a success rate of 100% and an average of 16/20.
