Castelnaudary. High school students attend classes at a transport company

Students of 1st grade, technological sciences, management and administration had an unusual experience.

This is within the framework of a project built with three partners: AFT, transport and logistics, represented by the regional representative Christine Boy, an important local transport company supported by its management and the high school Germaine-Tillion managed by Frédéric Albarel which is the first STMG students could for two weeks to enjoy an unusual experience: “Teaching in the company”.

Offshore courses

Indeed, after the work carried out by the teaching team in close collaboration with experts, the courses were moved to the premises of the company to provide a rich program that allows students to give more meaning to their learning thanks to the immediate realization of theoretical contributions within a professional context.

This experience took place in several stages, of course with the discovery and visit of the company, courses that were conducted in pairs (teacher, expert) in management on the topic of SWOT (company audit form) CSR, that is, the issue of social and environmental responsibility of the company, in management sciences around payroll and integrated management software (PGI) or even on law with disputes, contracts of carriage.

The reality of the job

The last day is dedicated to “live your life” which allows students to follow an expert in the reality of practicing his profession in order to take into account all the limitations associated with the professional framework and the sometimes non-obvious link that needs to be understood in classes between theory and practice.

This top experience, supported by the will of all, is fully in line with the national policy that wants to promote the “school-work” connection and develop partnerships to facilitate the future professional integration of students.

Experience for future projects

In addition to the significant educational content that is offered to students these days, breaks and shared meals on site will also be an opportunity for better acquaintance, more informal exchange and undoubtedly thinking about the future experiences of the high school will be able to include in the policy of the local school and business board “Germaine Tillion- Lauragais Audois” which is being established and will enable the piloting of this dynamic of rapprochement and joint work between the school and the professional world.

It is an experience that the director wants to continue, as well as the partners who provided the students with a quality welcome characterized by friendliness, kindness, but above all great professionalism. We should not forget the dedication of the teachers, Ms. Fabienne Rontet, Noëlle Bes coca, Cassandra Maille and Mr. Gascoin Raphaël.

As for the students, they saw all the benefits of meeting professionals in their workplaces and were able to make more sense of their learning thanks to these immediate scenarios at the very heart of the pair course.

The first is a successful experience that in the future he is looking for and the second is to the great satisfaction of everyone and the success of the students.
