Easter Cups in Nogaro: crowd, victory for Guillaume Maio… 5 things to remember from the Gers weekend

The curtain fell on the Easter Cups in Nogaro on Monday, April 1. At the end of this last day you will have the opportunity to take stock of the highlights again.

34,420 spectators: an increase of 4.90%

Caroline Diviès, general manager of the circuit and René Pascouau, president of ASAM Armagnac-Bigorre shared a positive assessment: “The Easter Cups 2024 were a great success with an attendance of 34,420 people at the meeting, an increase of 4.90% compared with 2023. Watch for a live broadcast on Auto-Moto La Chaîne and SRO TV that gave a beautiful view of the Paul-Armagnac circuit after the track’s out-of-season repairs. Another great reward for the entire circuit team and that of the promoter SRO.”

These Easter Cups were a popular success despite the unpredictable weather, with more than 34,400 spectators.

Renault Clio Cup Series: a Gers victory

Yesterday, race 2 of the Clio Cup Series brought luck (and what joy) for Guillaume Maio. The driver/preparer from Castelnau-d’Auzan who runs GM Sport, his racing structure, won ahead of Nicolas Milan (2nd) and Florian Venturi (3rd). “It’s my first pole and my first victory in this very tough championship. It’s great!” Guillaume also appreciated that Venturi, one of GM Sport’s drivers/customers, took his place on the podium. Guillaume Maio, who was 14th out of 42 starters in Race 1, won at the finish ahead of Nicolas Milan, the ace of the discipline with 15 titles already, who blamed himself for a poor tire choice.

In April, the Nogaro circuit will host two other events for the general public, with free entry. On April 12, 13 and 14 it is time for the Coupe de France Promosport round, which mainly attracts amateur, novice or experienced riders. On Friday April 26, the Tour de France car will pass the Carcassonne-Pau stage before arriving in Biarritz the next day, which will throw the Paul-Armagnac circuit into commotion in a timed event.
